work sharing

Thought this would be a good place to start a little show and tell. Id love to see what everyone is up to and hear some war stories and see victory dances.

Here is one that just won a competition, http://www.elevationda.com/samples/DFL_Parks.pdf (3.2MB)
David did a great job with the casework. And Melissa styled and modeled the photography.

And here is the clients blog of wine/barn under construction on up in Philo, (in Jason's neck of the woods)

Outsourcing

Yes, you all discussed it recently, and I want to revisit the issue:

Have you ever outsourced CD production to an NYC architect?
If so, could you recommend someone?
How about a non-NYC architect? US? International?

I'm very interested in seeing how this might work.

Thanks,

Colin

im a little uncomfortable with outsourcing in a linear design/production process only because there so much embedded knowledge and design/detail opportunty that gets lost.

one easy non-committal way to start may be simple design review/feedback. lets post some projects get some group input. this may not help fullfiling anyones contractual obligations but it may get a design dialogue going and hlep to identify opportunities and fits for collaboration on deliverables.

I'll be interested to see how this shakes out and how Volume might get involved. Maybe Greg and I (after I kick his ass) might throw a few ideas around next week in the Big Apple, since we are both inhabit a somewhat multidisciplinary firm structure.

looking for talented architects and designers around the globe to help me not work so hard so I can vacation in Belize!

Sooooooooooo, does anyone have any time and want to help on some projects!? Seriously, we've run out of desk space and poigniantly timed Jason has brought up a possibility I'd been thinking of. There's nothing like people you trust to work with even if they are a continent away! I'm working with Kent on something now and was glad to have Dougs help last year. So if anyone is interested or know other offsite help, I'd love to talk.
